DISCONTINUANCE OBTAINED DURING JURY SELECTION IN FAVOR OF CARDIOLOGIST AND GROUP
In January, 2025, our attorney Paul Nasta, Esq. obtained a Stipulation of Discontinuance for our clients, a Board Certified Cardiologist and her cardiology group. This occurred during jury selection in the case, which was pending in Supreme Court, Suffolk County. The case involved claims that our client failed to properly diagnose and treat a post-operative wound infection in a patient who had undergone surgery to replace the aortic valve and repair pseudoaneurysms. The patient subsequently developed endocarditis and sustained a septic myocardial infarction, and required placement of a pacemaker, with a lengthy hospitalization. We were able to persuade plaintiffs’ attorney to discontinue the case voluntarily, without a settlement.
