DISMISSAL OF NURSING HOME ATTENDING PHYSICIAN IN CASE OF SEPTIC SHOCK, MULTI-ORGAN FAILURE, AND DEATH

In July of 2024, attorney Ginette M. Portera secured summary judgment in a Bronx County case in favor of the patient’s attending physician at a nursing home facility.  The physician faced allegations of failure to diagnose and treat a scrotal infection, and an infected left foot blister, in an 81-year old male with multiple co-morbidities.  It was claimed that, as a result, the patient sustained left leg cellulitis, septic shock, multi-organ failure and death.
